Jesus Cisneros: Candidate for Long Beach City Council District 2
Jesus Cisneros says he’s running to fill the Long Beach City Council District 2 seat because “Someone has to. An average person has to.” The Los Angeles School Resource officer believes it’s important for an “Average Joe” to be on the City Council.
“Not a politician. Not someone who’s taking money from big companies. Just an average person like you and me.”
Cisneros cites a litany of problems that he wants to address, from crime to the cost of living in Long Beach to homelessness.
“A lot of people can’t afford to live here anymore. Crime is going up; the way of living is going down.”

PalacioMagazine.com interviewed City Council candidates for Districts 2, 6, and 8. We asked each candidate the same three questions with follow-ups for clarification and more in-depth information.
- Why are you running?
- What is your vision for the District?
- Name and discuss two or three Policy issues
There are seven candidates total including Jesus Cisneros vying for the second district council seat: Cindy Allen, Eduardo Lara, Ryan Lum, Nigel Lifsey, Robert Fox, and Jeanette Barrera. PalacioMagazine.com sat down with District 2 candidate Cisneros to get his answers to these questions.
Jesus Cisneros Vision Statement
(Provided by the candidate) “The forest was shrinking, but the trees kept voting for the ax as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them. If you want change, then please vote Cisneros for Long Beach city council district 2.”
