Voices in My Head
The Voices in my head: I am the Other America. Join Me.
REPLAY: I originally posted this in the hour that Donald J.Trump was taking the oath as the 45th President of the United States of America.
At this hour, a new president is being sworn in as the 45th president of the united states. Not in a million years did I ever think I would see this day. But, I am not surprised. For years, I’ve said that this would happen. That this would be the last chance of the old vision America to reclaim their birthright. That they believed we had gone too far.
The other America that had to blame someone for their ills. The country that believed that it was a matter to lesser of two evils and the right evil won.
The other America that told an interviewer that Donald J. Trump is a great communicator. Not since John F. Kennedy Jr and Camelot. That he tells it like it is. That he will make America great again.
The other America who has talked themselves into dismissing the hateful, sexist, just plain mean, disrespectful, childish, ignorant, lying speech just to give him a chance. Just give him a chance.
The other America who wanted a man’s man to lead them out of the darkness. Not some woman who was bedeviled by scandal. OMG, those email things and wall street money. I’ll take grabbing pussy over emails any day.
The one who refused to vote because it’s all the same. Or the other America who said anyone but Trump and Hillary because they’re all the same.
Now, we must decide which other America we are going to be as we face the most unqualified President in my lifetime. We can moan hurt and disappointment. We can howl at the moon. March with signs and threatening slogans. Crying anger into our souls. Piss against the flag and the Constitution.
Or be another America. The one that says we must unite against the evil we see before us. Begin today, the second civil war. A cold civil war of truth, organizing, teaching, learning, committed to talking to those other American who lost touch with real life and settled for reality tv. To those that did not vote. Or voted for anyone but them.
Keep the light of truth on. Shine it large into and through the darkness that is to come. In the end, light breaks darkness. It always has. It always will.
