Election 2020: An LBCC Student Explains Why She Votes
Citlalilt Pastrana is a student and President’s Ambassador at Long Beach City College. She was asked why she will vote in the 2020 election.

“I vote for my Children’s future. I am a student parent with a 6-year-old girl and a baby on the way. I vote for them. Not only do I want to lead by example and make sure they know they’re mommy voted in each and every election, but I also want to make sure that I do everything in my power to secure them a safe and successful future. I vote to make sure the right people are elected to their suitable positions.
My first election 8 years ago was not made with these thoughts in mind. I voted without any information on any person or proposition. I voted cluelessly and irresponsibly. I now do extensive research on each proposition and make sure I am well informed on all opposing matters to make sure I make the right decision.
I feel like there might be many voters out there like how I voted 8 years ago. My message to them is please educate yourself for our next generation’s sake and peace of mind.”
