Crossing Borders by Nataly Galicia Castilio
“Separated from her parents for fourteen years, Nataly shares how she and her sister bravely persevered on their journey from Guatemala to America and the family reunion of her dreams. Unwilling to be daunted by the language barrier, Nataly plunged wholeheartedly into her new life and will soon graduate from high school in Massachusetts where she competes on the cross country and track teams. Her volunteer work with the elderly has led her to her next goal – a college degree in nursing. Nataly is a senior at Natick High School. Originally from Guatemala, she runs competitively as part of the cross country and track teams. Nataly also does volunteer work with the elderly, assisting them with daily living tasks. After high school, she plans to attend college to pursue a career in nursing.”
