SAT scores limit student opportunity and college diversity

Many high school students struggle with taking tests, which means that those who have high GPAs (grade point average) but end up with lower than hoped for SAT (scholastic assessment test) scores are limited in their ability to get into the college of their choice. Athena Amanatidis tells us that if more universities became test optional, this would allow such students to be accepted into a wider range of colleges, and would also result in more diverse college campuses. Athena is a student at Scripps Ranch High School.
