“In this talk, recorded at TEDxEustis in January 2019, freedom seeker Lea Tran shares the harrowing journey her family took to reach the United States and the further hurdles she faced to find her voice. Lea is a graduate of Villanova University and began her career as an organic chemist at Wyeth and Merck & Company Pharmaceuticals. For seventeen years, she was co-inventor of several patents on anti-HIV drug discovery and development. Prior to moving to Florida with her husband and son in 2015, Lea owned and operated Distinctive Designs for ten years, a high-end window drapery business. Lea is currently employed as a Sales and Marketing Manager at South Lake Tablet, an online news forum.”

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
