After a 30-year career as a teacher and school administrator for Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD), I am running for School Board for District 4.
I spent my high school and college years in Long Beach, graduating from Millikan High School and then attending California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) where I received my elementary teaching credential. I taught elementary school for a number of years before taking time off to raise my family.
When I returned to my career in education, I taught English as a Second Language (ESL) at Millikan High School and helped start the first high school ESL program.
I learned and practiced my management skills while serving as a language development specialist, mentor coordinator, vice principal and principal at Long Beach School for Adults and Reid Continuation High School.
