Latinos in Action Presents Third Annual Latina Women’s Conference
Latinos in Action will convene their Third Annual Conference For Latina Women, Mujer Triunfadora (The Successful Woman) on Saturday, March 19, 7am-4pm. A panel of motivational speakers will include three important personalities:
Rosie Rivera is an American television personality and current CEO of Jenni Rivera Enterprises. Rivera first gained media attention through her sister’s death but she received wider notice after she began to star in Spanish-language reality shows.
Jackeline Cacho is an International Award winning journalist producer and founder of a national TV Show Jackeline Cacho presents Triunfo Latino on VMe TV network which aired every Sunday to 43 cities around United States. She is also Founder and pioneer of the Edutainment Revolution.
Imelda Interiano is an author and television producer.
The day-long event will be at the John Edward Parr Health Enhancement Center at St. Mary’s Medical Center, 1055 Linden Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90813. The Long Beach Post recently reported on the event, Latinos in Action to Host Latina Empowering Conference in Long Beach’s 6th District, describing that attendees ” will attend various workshops throughout the day to learn about managing personal finances, increasing business, controlling emotions, achieving goals and obtaining nontraditional work that may offer good salaries.”
According to the Post, Latinos in Action co-founder Martha Cota will be there along with co-founder Evangelina Ramirez, Dignity Health-St. Mary Medical Center President and CEO Joel Yuhas and Sixth District Councilman Dee Andrews.
According to the Latinos in Action Facebook page, the organization is a nonprofit organization with the mission to strengthen and enrich the quality of life of families, young and individuals. The organization provides workshops and training for prevention and management of diabetes, high blood pressure, exercise and nutrition classes (with practical demonstrations for cooking healthy). Other focused issues is to motivate and encourage parents to involvement in the education of their children through their nine-week program “climbing to college.” More programs include conflict resolution, anger management, leadership, the art of public speaking, as well as offering classes in cake decorating, art classes including crochet and crafts with recycled materials where parents and children share a fun and educational time.
