“Kenyan investigative reporter John Allan Namu discusses the role of good journalism in redefining African identity. Through examples of content that had an impact on him, he submits that for Africa to push forward, good journalism must be paid for. John lives to tell “untold investigative stories “that give his audience novel ideas, enhance their knowledge and better still have their jaws dropped. A winner of CNN MultiChoice African Journalist of the Year (2009), John admits that his profound passion in telling stories was birthed by his desire to participate in making injustice “things” just, thus the inspiration to bring out the truth to the public John is the CEO/Editorial Director of Africa Uncensored which brings together Kenya’s best Investigative Journalists.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.”
