Long Beach Vote 2016
Erik Miller: Latest Primary Election Update
Long Beach City Council Candidate District 6: Erik Miller
(Updated by Long Beach City Clerk: 04/16/2016 10:14 PM)
Challenger Erik Miller may still face a runoff with incumbent Dee Andrews in June. That’s only if Andrews holds on to his current updated numbers. According to LBReport, they’ve “learned that Councilman Andrews’ campaign is invoking a Sacramento statutory change (effective 2012) that allows a write-in candidate to a request a hand tally of write-in ballots in which ballots initially not included in the count can be legally counted.” In these latest numbers from the City Clerk, Miller received 556 or 26.71% of the 2,234 votes cast. With 21,382 registered voters in District 6, there was a 10.45% participation rate, the lowest in last Tuesday’s election.
