“Definite Parallels” Between Hate Groups and Border Patrol FB Group

“A.C. Thompson, a reporter with ProPublica, uncovered a secret Facebook group that included thousands of current and former Border Patrol agents. Members of the group shared racist, homophobic and sexist messages and memes. Thompson, who also reported on the deadly Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville in 2017, says he sees “definite parallels between the two different sorts of groups, the white supremacist groups and what they’re talking about online and then these Border Patrol Facebook groups and what they’re talking about online.”
